1. What cookies and storage are
Cookies are small values a website asks a browser to retain. Local storage persists a preference until it is removed; session storage normally lasts only for the current browser tab or session. This Policy describes the storage used by the current LinkNest application.
2. Storage LinkNest currently uses
- LINKNESTSESSID: a strictly necessary, HttpOnly session cookie used to authenticate an account and protect the session. It uses SameSite controls and Secure delivery on HTTPS.
- Language preferences:
linknest_locale,linknest_marketing_localeandlinknest_admin_localein local storage remember the display language. They do not reverse the whole interface direction. - AI setup and return state: temporary session storage keeps an unfinished LinkNest AI draft or the return destination long enough to complete the requested flow.
Current LinkNest page-view and block-click analytics are recorded on the server and do not require a LinkNest advertising or marketing cookie. LinkNest should introduce a consent choice before adding non-essential tracking cookies.
3. Why no general cookie banner is shown
The current first-party storage is necessary for authentication or requested language/session functionality. Where applicable law does not require prior consent for these categories, a banner would not provide a meaningful reject choice. This will be reassessed before any optional analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking is introduced.
4. Third-party embeds
A public page can include media or maps from YouTube, Google Maps, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud or Mixcloud. Loading those embeds may allow the provider to receive technical information or set its own storage according to its privacy and cookie policies. LinkNest uses privacy-enhanced YouTube URLs where supported but does not control every third-party practice.
5. Your choices
You can remove local or session storage and block cookies through browser settings. Blocking the session cookie will prevent login and authenticated editing; removing language storage resets the language choice; clearing AI session storage discards the unfinished local draft. You can avoid third-party storage by not loading or interacting with an embed, subject to browser controls.
